Will cutting CARBs/sugar make you lose weight

Akwaaba ( Welcome)

Reducing carbs for me was to help reduce the symptoms that I was getting from my reaction to sugar. It took years for me to realize that the carbs were also contributing to my weight gain.

So, the question now is,

Have you lost weight since you started reducing your CARB/SUGAR intake? And the answer to that is NO.

I am not reducing the CARBs enough to cause weight loss. For some of us (people with weight), the CARBS HAVE TO BE cut down drastically for us to see a change in weight.

If you have tried to reduce your CARBS intake, you will know that it is one of the most difficult things to do.

YOU NEVER KNOW HOW ADDICTIVE CARBS, ARE UNTILL YOU TRY TO CUT DOWN ON IT

If you have eaten rice all your lifetime and you try to not eat it for about 3 days, your body will go through withdrawal (the feeling of being sick, and hungry even though you have just eaten).

So, back to my story, some years ago the light bulb came on about my eating CARBS and its connection to weight gain and weight loss. I have heard of people recommending cutting CARBS for weight loss, but for some reason I was not comprehending it, or it was not making sense.

When I started cutting down on CARBS, I thought the weight loss would automatically happen, until I realized that for me, I must add physical activity to it or drastically remove as much CARBS as possible.

My body has gotten to the point whereby at the scent of CARBS, I was gaining weight. Sometimes I think just seeing it makes me gain weight. (LOL)

On a serious note, if I should eat just a small amount of CARBS, the next day I have added about 2 lbs. to my weight (later found out, it is water weight).

Do you know that for every 1 gram of carbs you eat, your body holds onto 2 lbs. of water weight?

Discipline

what is discipline and why do I mention this? For some of us we do not have the discipline to go through that art of not eating CARBs for a while.

Something pulls us back to our favorite comfort. To master not eating carbs we have to discipline our bodies. We also need accountability. If we know that we must report to someone about our progress, it helps us stay disciplined and helps us make the right choices.

As you read this be my accountability person and I will be yours so that we can progress in this Journey.

Do not forget physical activity.   It does not have to be strenuous, just walking will do the trick.

Conclusion/Summary

In conclusion if you want to reduce body pain and your body going into reaction mode then reduce your carb/sugar intake.  If you want to lose the weight, then:

Cut your CARB intake as low as possible

Add a physical activity

Find an accountability person

Till we meet again. Take good care of this House you are in and remember whatever you put into your mouth your body answers you back.
